Corporate Lunch at Hartwell House
Hosted by The High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, Amanda Nicholson
Thursday 13th March 2008

The outgoing High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, Amanda Nicholson, has been very generous to TBF during her term of office.  As her “parting gesture” she very kindly hosted a lunch at Hartwell House in Aylesbury to which we invited largely corporate supporters, both present and, hopefully, future.  We used the occasion to present the concept of a Bucks Foundation Named Fund.

Many companies want to support their local communities but do not have the time, staff, or expertise to handle the many charitable appeals they receive. All we ask is a minimum of £2,000 per year to be used for grants of up to £1,000 each and we request an administration fee of 10%.  The rest of the work is up to us.

Sir Terry Wogan Golf Day
Tuesday 5th June 2007

For the first time in seven years Sir Terry Wogan's charity Golf Day in aid of The Buckinghamshire Foundation enjoyed warmth and sunshine although the accompanying breeze made the golfing challenging. Indeed, after years of rain, the weather was so remarkable that Sir Terry commented on it, referring to the regular groups as "wet weather golfers"! As always, the Denham Golf Club was a superb host, providing good food and good wine to see the teams on their way. With a shotgun start and Stableford scoring, the teams of four returned to the nineteenth hole for tea and to learn that the team from The Parcel Company in High Wycombe had trounced the opposition and walked away with the Jourdan Jug trophy. The Buckinghamshire Foundation is very grateful for the support lent by Sir Terry at this annual event.

If you would like to view and purchase photographs of the day, they may be found at www.carolemclatchie.com.
