What is a Community Foundation?
The Buckinghamshire Foundation is a Community Foundation.
Community Foundations are charitable trusts that promote and support local
voluntary and community activity. They also provide a platform for private and
corporate donors to make a local difference. As part of a nationwide network of
community foundations, which are predominately county based, The Buckinghamshire
Foundation operates only in the county of Buckinghamshire.
(Please note Milton Keynes has its own Community Foundation with a web site at
www.mkcommunityfoundation.co.uk).
Mission Statement
The Buckinghamshire Foundation is an independent registered charity
dedicated to promoting charitable activity in the County. The Buckinghamshire Foundation
specialises in making awards to groups at grass roots level who otherwise might not be
able to access support. It is also dedicated to providing an ideal platform for the
administration of corporate and individual charitable donations.

The Buckinghamshire Foundation
supports Turville School Trust
Jeremy Paxman, as a local resident, played a key part in the establishment of the Turville School Trust. He was part of a fundraising group which was able to purchase the old school building in Weston Turville in order to establish the Turville School Trust.
The Trust hosts country holidays and activities for deprived and under-privileged children up to the age of 12. The grant recently given by The Buckinghamshire Foundation will fund sports coaching during the summer holidays. Jeremy Paxman, not only an original fundraiser, but now Patron of the Turville School Trust was on hand to accept the cheque on their behalf, presented by Denis Burrell, a trustee of The Buckinghamshire Foundation
